Our Claims Process
We used to handle claims the same way we had been handling them for 15 years…which was ok…and probably the same way they were handled by every other agency. But Preferred Insurance Center isn’t here to be OK or like everyone else. We expect to be the best, and that day, we weren’t.
We looked at our processes and talked to our clients…and changed
- First we decided to call you twice as often to keep you better informed.
- And then we did what everyone told us couldn’t be done! We created a process to drastically reduce phone tag. We don’t have 1 person taking care of claims so you don’t need to talk to “the claims person”. Then we created a system so notes, emails, phone calls etc. etc. are all available to everyone here so anyone who answers the phone should be able to help you!

You’ve had a car accident, now what?
- First make sure everyone is OK. Call the police or 911, if necessary.
- For the fastest service, call the claim number on your insurance card from the scene of the accident.
- If you have a cell phone, take some pictures.
- Gather vital information.
- Describe exactly what happened in as much detail as possible.
- Be sure to include where and when the accident happened.
- Make of vehicles and license plate numbers.
- Name and contact information for everyone involved.
- Describe any injuries in detail, if possible.
- What law enforcement agency responded and how to contact them.
