Almost everyday, you hop into your car and start driving down the road. It’s routine, it’s habit, and it’s kinda a no big deal. But, every time you get into the car there is the potential for some sort of accident. Auto insurance protects you and other drivers on the road when a wreck happens. It’s critical that your coverage matches what your needs are.
Most people get a quote for car insurance because it’s the law. Then, they narrow down their provider based on their monthly bill.
We like to look at things a little differently. We’re going to ask first and foremost how much coverage do you need?
You’re driving down the road and accidentally run a stop sign. It happens. Now say, in this instance you hit someone. A husband and wife. The wife ends up in the hospital. For each individual involved in the accident, you may have a $100,000 limit, which sounds like a lot. But this must pay for hospital bills, loss of wages, pain and suffering, and more. We all know that any good lawyer will sue for everything. Now say the wife who was involved in the accident ends up in the hospital a week. That $100,000 isn’t going to go very far towards her medical bills, nevermind all the other things you would be liable for.
We know $100,000 is a lot of money. And, normally, it would go a long way. But, in the case of an accident, it doesn’t actually go that far. You potentially have surgeries and care flights and intensive care expenses. If you had a crystal ball, you could see if an accident was in your future, but unfortunately, there is no such thing. You never know what could happen.
We’re going to start by getting you the coverage we would want if you were our family. We like to start with policies that are $250,000 per person and $500,000 per accident. We also show you the option to add another $1,000,000 lawsuit coverage on top of that (because who hasn’t heard of lawsuits for $1,000,000 or more). We can always go down if you would prefer, but we want to make sure you are going to be properly covered in the case of an accident.
We see a lot of people come in with lower limits and anymore, that’s just not enough. It also doesn’t cost that much more a year to go higher. Typically, it’s only about $40 to $50 (about $4.16/month) more for the entire year. And the additional $1,000,000 coverage is often only another $10 and $20 per month!
We understand what you’re going through. Several of our own team members are the parents of teenagers who are learning to drive. Not only is it scary, but it can also be expensive to cover an inexperienced driver. Our team can help find you the best rates and also set you up with a Safe Driver Reward program that’s perfect for parents of teen drivers.
We want to make sure you are protected. We’ve personally seen policies pay out to the max and what that looks like for people. It means a lot to have the coverage there when you need it.
It’s our sincere hope you never use this policy. But, if you have to, we want to make sure you’re covered for the unpredictable.
